We are seeking members for both active and administrative membership
Hose Company Number 4 is seeking motivated individuals who want to make a difference in the community in which they live and work. As a volunteer, you will learn valuable skills, develop lasting friendships, and enjoy self-satisfaction, all while helping your friends and neighbors. You don't need previous experience or training; we provide your training free-of-charge.
Membership Process
Our membership process is very simple. After completing an application and submit the attached three references you will be contacted and invited to an interview. Following the interview you will be invited to a general membership meeting, and start your three month probationary period. During this period, you will be expected to attend a training academy weekend where you will learn basic firefighting operations and the processes of participating within the department. In addition, probationary members are encouraged to spend time at both stations to become familiar with equipment, procedures, and members. Once you complete your probationary packet, you will be issued personal protective equipment (firefighter gear) and become eligible to run calls. Following the three months, your permanent membership will be voted upon during the general membership meeting.
For those who already have training
Many of our new members already have previous Fire or EMS training or experience because they are new to the area, are local college students, or desire to add on to their current experience. Members with experience will be allowed to practice their skills once completing the probationary packet and completing the applicable precasting and chief's approval.
